Postpartum Precautions You Must Follow!

After childbirth, it generally takes about six weeks for the body to return to normal.
During this period, it is very important to avoid overexertion and focus on stability and rest.

  1. Avoid cold water.
    Do not drink cold water as it may harm your recovery.

  2. Keep indoor temperature slightly warm.
    Since your body is weak after delivery, maintain a proper room temperature (20–22°C).

  3. Be careful not to be exposed to wind.
    Exposure to drafts may cause abdominal pain or discomfort.

  4. Wear comfortable and warm clothing.
    Avoid tight clothes that hinder circulation. Wear comfortable innerwear to keep warm and prevent drafts.

  5. Delay bathing for 3–4 weeks.
    Bathing too soon may cause infection or discomfort, as the body is still vulnerable. Use sponge baths instead.

  6. Maintain cleanliness of undergarments and clothing.
    Postpartum discharge may increase the risk of infection. Always wear clean clothing and maintain personal hygiene.

  7. Additional care.

    • Ensure adequate rest and avoid stress.

    • Light indoor exercises after about 3 weeks may help recovery.
