When Expressing Remaining Breast Milk

Place the thumb about 3 cm above the areola and the other fingers below, forming a “C” shape with the hand.

Position the fingers at the 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock directions around the areola.

Avoid squeezing the breast too tightly.
Steps:

Press gently toward the chest.

Roll the fingers forward.

Finally, express the milk outward
Expressing Breast Milk

Push straight toward the chest.
Keep fingers close together without spreading apart.
For engorged breasts, push inward toward the chest in the same position as when the breast was first swollen.

Then press forward.
Keep the thumb and fingers in position, pressing forward carefully to express the remaining milk without damaging sensitive tissue.
Steps:

Hold the breast.

Push inward.

Roll the fingers.

Express the milk forward.
Repeat this motion rhythmically until the milk is fully expressed.
Expressing Milk with Both HandsUse both hands to gently press around each breast in a circular motion to express any remaining milk.
Movements to Avoid

Do not squeeze the breast too tightly, as it can cause bruising.

Sliding the hand roughly over the skin may cause irritation.

Do not pull on the nipple, as this may damage breast tissue.
Massage Gently

Gentle massage stimulates breast tissue and supports milk production.

With fingers flat, press firmly but gently in a circular motion.

Draw small circles with your fingers, moving outward in a spiral pattern while gradually covering the entire breast. |
